On 4th September, the Royal Institution in London hosted our inaugural Collaborate Conference, a landmark gathering that celebrated the power of cross-sector collaboration in advancing scientific and medical innovation. Bringing together researchers, clinicians, industry leaders and government stakeholders the event showcased how coordinated efforts accelerate progress in global health.

An iconic venue, The Royal Institution has been a hub for scientific exploration and discovery for over 200 years and perfectly reflected the nature of the event centring around collaborative scientific engagement.

In charting the development and impact of Origin’s pioneering work in the field of cancer diagnostics, an itinerary chaired by former Chair of NHS England and Origin Sciences Strategic Advisory Board lead, Lord Prior of Brampton, saw invited presentations from up- and down-stream partners with each demonstrating their own unique contributions and capabilities as part of a connected supply chain of ideas and solutions.

From academia, industry and government, leaders from organisations including Illumina, IBM, the NHS, Imperial College, Azenta, and the Earlham and Quadram Institutes presented their expertise to an audience of senior officials, executives and researchers illustrating how each supports the work of another by drawing on real-world case studies.

With all tickets allocated and a full programme covering partnership models in translational innovation completed, the event closed with breakout sessions and informal networking to explore further collaboration opportunities.

The first event was highly productive and we are pleased to confirm its intended return to the Royal Institution in 2026, building on existing partnerships and those we continue to develop.
